Seney Drug Company: Over 100 years of Community Care

In the annals of Buffalo’s history, the Seney Drug Company was a cornerstone of the community, a place where care and compassion were dispensed alongside prescriptions. Under the stewardship of the Seney family, it thrived, touching the lives of generations.

In the heart of Buffalo, Wyoming, a small-town gem emerged in 1915, bearing the name of its visionary founder, Ralph Seney. With a commitment to community care and a genuine passion for their craft, Ralph and his descendants forged a legacy that spanned generations.

Ralph Seney’s vision was simple yet profound: to provide essential healthcare services to the people of Buffalo. From its modest beginnings, the Seney Drug Company quickly established itself as a trusted beacon of care and compassion.

The year 1923 marked a pivotal moment, as the business found a new home in a landmark building crafted by W.B. Ross Construction. This move not only symbolized growth but also solidified Seney Drug Company’s place in the heart of the community.

Tragedy struck in 1934, with the untimely passing of Ralph Seney. However, his legacy of service lived on through the capable hands of his sons, Frank and Fred, who took the reins with a shared commitment to their father’s vision.

For nearly four decades, Frank and Fred Seney upheld the legacy, turning Seney Drug Company into a cornerstone of Buffalo life. The shelves held not only medicines but also the trust and gratitude of the community they served.

In 1958, a new chapter was written as Ralph Seney II, son of Frank, joined the family business. With the passing of each year, the Seney family’s dedication to community care deepened, leaving an indelible mark on Buffalo.

In 1974, Ralph II took ownership, ensuring that the tradition of heartfelt service continued. For five decades, he presided over Seney Drug Company, leaving an enduring legacy of care and compassion.

In 2005, the torch was passed to the next generation, as Kevin Seney took the reins. His transition away from the retail store marked a new era, but the heart and soul of Seney Drug Company remained unchanged.

The Seney family’s legacy, woven into the fabric of Buffalo’s history, serves as a testament to the enduring power of community care. From Ralph to Frank, Fred, and Ralph II, they were not just small-town pharmacists; they were stewards of a legacy that touched countless lives. The story of Seney Drug Company is a tale of dedication, compassion, and the profound impact that one family can have on a community.
